What is LEAP? 

It is a 11 month Post Graduate Diploma in leadership and development offered to colleagues at GGS,  Pearl & UPES to help them build skills and attitude necessary for bigger roles & responsibilities.  

Leap has world class curriculum with a blend of online and face to face learning. You will learn from  the best including having online courses from Harvard, MIT and university of Illinois to name a few.  Leap also has hands on learning components like internships and capstone project. 

  1. Why should I participate in it? 

Leap is one of its kind management program that is curated to help you gain valuable management  and leadership skills to succeed in life. It focuses on helping you achieve your personal growth and  aspirations. 

LEAP makes you future-ready with critical skills & learning for roles with bigger responsibility. Aimed  at catalyzing holistic learning and skills for life, LEAP provides a staunch foundation for future leaders  and changemakers.  

  1. I have a master’s degree in management already. Should I  do this program? 

This program will bring you leadership lessons from the gurus themselves, focusing on a lot of  practical experience. You will learn directly from the masters and the content of the program has  been designed in a way that is relevant to your work and makes you ready for bigger roles &  responsibilities. 

  1. What is the duration of the program? 

Leap is a 11 month program with 12 modules and a minimum of 450 hrs. of learning. 

Every month participants will go through online classes (1-2 hours 3-4 times in a week) over  blackboard followed by 4 days of face to face learning on campus (Thursday, Friday, Saturday and  Sunday).

  1. What is the structure of the program? 

The program will cover general principles and application of management and leadership. The program has the following components

Online modules: Online learning through blackboard

Coursera courses

4 days boot camp every month which is run face to face on campus

Internship with in the organisation

Capstone consulting project working on a real time challenge that the organisation is facing

  1. How much time will I have to dedicate to LEAP? Leap has a combination of face to face and online learning including certification from Coursera. Boot Camp for 4 Days every month – On Campus 

Online classes 3-4 times a week of 1-2 hours each. 

Self study through online tutorials and readings 

Group assignments  

*You will have maximum support of your reporting managers to plan your time for the program.

 

  1. What are the different modes of Learning? 

Within the course you will be exposed to different pedagogical styles such as: 

  • Wisdom from movies: 12 movies, once every month followed by discussion • Socratic dialogues: Classroom discussions which start with deep fundamental questions  such as “Why should anyone be led by me” 
  • Learning leadership from Giants – From Plato to Elon Musk to Kapil dev to Rabindranath  Tagore 
  • Leadership from Sports: what can sports teach us about project management and  leadership 
  • Coursera certifications from marquee names like “Introduction to Statistics” by Stanford  university – https://www.coursera.org/learn/stanford-statistics
  • Role change Internships: Internship with a different department in the GGS family  institutions. 
  • Group capstone Project: a group of participants will work on an organisational challenge  for instance how do we drive digital transformation, or improve enrolments to  registration ratios etc. 
  • Exponential technologies such as: Introduction to AI, Future of work in the age of  machine learning 
  • Pick up skills such as storytelling and working with data 
  1. What is the eligibility criteria for the program? 
  • You work at either GGS and associated companies or Pearl Academy or UPES • You are 40 years old or below at the time of application. (Born on or after 1st January  1982) 
  • You have spent more than 1 year with the organization. (1 year completion by 31st December 2021) 
  • You have an undergraduate degree 
  1. I am a faculty. Will this program be useful for me? 

Yes. Not only this program will prepare you or higher management roles in the organisation but also  help you in delivering better quality learning in the classroom. As part of the program you will get  exposed to a plethora of topics like story -telling, exponential technologies and pedagogical styles  such us Socrates dialogues to name a few. All this together with courses on leadership and  management will help you create a far more engaging learning environment in your class.

 

  1. I am already a part of another training initiative  (Shakti, Shikhar, Udaan), would LEAP still be relevant to  me? 

Yes, while the training initiatives give you the essential life skills to take larger roles, LEAP will focus  on empowering you with the management & leadership skills that are required for bigger  responsibilities. Infact, LEAP will be an addition to the skills that you learn in these trainings. 

  1. How do I enroll myself in this program? Do I need any  approvals to participate in this program? 

To be a part of this program, all you need is to Click Here and fill in the application form. This  is a self-nomination program and therefore does not require any approvals. The last date to  receive applications is 3rd October 2021. 

Once we have received your application, you will undergo the following process of  assessment: 

– Written test – The test will assess Analytical Skills, Basic Mathematics and English  comprehension. 

– Panel Interview – Basis clearing the written test, shortlisted candidates will undergo a panel  interview for final selection. 

  1. When will the program start? 

The first module will commence in December 2021. 

  1. Do I need to pay for my travel & stay cost? The travel & stay cost of all participants will be borne by the organization.

 

  1. What is the program fee? 

The cost of the program is Rs. 3,10,000 however it is available at Rs. 37,500 for the employees. This  fee is paid for by the organisation. However, if the applicants don’t complete the program or leave  within 2 years of starting the program this fee shall be charged to the employee. 

  1. Will I get a certificate upon completion of the course? 

Participants will receive a Diploma Certificate from UPES upon successful completion of the  program.
